welcome i'm molly grantham. >> i'm paul cameron. a difficult day. let's get to eric thomas. he is live in the weather center and analyzing the weather. >> you mentioned three problems we're going to cover all three storm. you see the watch is out here florida and here is the radar intense storms are rolling to the carolinas. and georgia on the moment on the doppler radar, just a few sprinkles around in the area but heavier rain expected to move in on top of 2 inches of rain. the watch has been reissued that's why it is flashing across the viewing area. that's wednesday at 6:00. we have a wind advisory and gusts in the high country and reissued and see 40 to 50. and that's the rest of the viewing area.

you will see we are in a slight risk over the piedmont and risk once you get over into the eastern part of the state. the flood issues will be high for folks. a wind field that could be knocking down trees even if you don't get hit by a storm. >> and we are getting the damage across the southeast. >> and there were seven. two are being blamed and mississippi one tore through the rv look at that. and it is everywhere. and look at the chief who saw the tornado. >> and going across that.

where they are at. >> the weather teams to document the damage and measure the strength of the tornadoes. and the governor said he placed the search and rescue weather. and raleigh the governor wanted the state on alert and ready to roll when they are needed. the governor urged local school leaders to review theirs and the plans and in case of bad weather. and ann clark said in case things take a turn for the worse. >> we practiced the industrials in the schools and so our schools are prepared should the circumstances happen once we get to school. we have an operations team that will be monitoring that. >> it is encouraging parents to watch the weather.

have to get on the bus if there are the down pours. can you stay on by down loading the news app. it can help you track the storms >> police know who shot the puppy. they arrested two teens a 17-year-old and a 14-year-old whose picture is not public because he is a juvenile. they shot the puppy 18 times. the metal bbs are lodged in the dog. and we tracked down harris' mom. >> he said i did not do this. >> and she is trying to figure out how her son got caught up in the case grabbing hearts everywhere a puppy shot 18 times with a bb gun. the police say that it was sun at the apartment complex.

the bbs in his body. police charged a 14-year-old and 17-year-old douglas. >> he came and he had a clip in his hand. he asked to keep the puppy. i said no we're in an apartment. our neighbor has the puppy that he had. >> while the neighbor cares for the puppy he could not keep, the puppy he is accused of shooting which was apparently someone's dog is recovering. his picture is across the news. >> and i didn't raise him right. the report said it was a group of teens. >> i'm stuck saying 17 to 20 juveniles. you have two one was released to the parent. my son is sitting in jail now. >> she doesn't believe her son

was forced to withdraw money. the journey ended an hour away over arch dale and go free and fled with the money. one neighbor said she surprised the kidnapping happened and feels sorry for the victim. >> police need help finding the suspect. if you know the person in the hooded sweat shirt contact the police. and flames gutted a school yesterday. we showed you the damage. the atf have been out. and they are trying to figure out what caused the fire.

two weeks ago the school board agreed it would decide on a search time line at the meeting only that didn't happen. and we were at that meeting. and no time line made tonight. what went wrong? >> well, molly it appears every time a board member made an effort for the search it was countered. nothing got done. the community waits, board members are now blaming each other on why they are back to the drawing board. >> had we actually gotten the time line together a year ago. >> the school board member speaking out tonight she blamed the leadership for waiting so long to start a search. >> better late than never. >> i will take it upon my back to say i will accept that. i think some of this lies with the rest of the board not just

on the search time line. we're live. >> the board took a step to the student assignment plan tonight in an attempt they said to calm fears. the board approved five goals. those goals will serve as a framework in developing the plan. that plan will dialed what scal schools your child will attend t is the first step in a year long process. the board members said there is no plan on the table to bus them all over the county and build diversity in the district. it will not take effect before the next school year. and the tournament will be an extraordinary event. this gives police expanded authority to search people. the tournament opened and continues through saturday at time warner. the chief said that while there is no known intelligence regarding threats, there is a security threat due to recent events. we have video paul of the

this is prairieville. and people were working out inside of this gym. look at that. it ripped the wall off. metal thrown around. there have been at least 7 confirmed tornadoes in louisiana and mississippi tonight and the storm system throughout the show is headed right for the carolinas. >> and a video can you see this. that's a trampoline flipping to the camera. this guy starts moving quickly. there it is. by him. it is tossed around and blows to someone's yard. and the power of the wind tonight. >> several school districts have canceled classes because of the threat of that weather. and the schools near myrtle beach. that is expecting heavy rain and some hail. this is going to be very, very difficult day tomorrow. details he is live in the

>> molly let's get back to it. we'll bring up the radar with the watches along the coast right now. you will see all the rain it is a wall of water. and working its way into georgia you can see the activity over the carolinas and the viewing area that will change as the rain rolls into the picture. we had two inches of rain over the last 24 hours. any more an inch or two that's why you have the watch. notice the piedmont and north and south carolina and up into the mountains under that watch. the wind advisory for gusts up to 40 miles per miles per hour and in the piedmont and 50 to 60 across the high country. if you see anything in red and purple. that's into the damaging wind category. here it is already by 7:00 in the morning. this is a big wind field. these are not individual storms you have the gusty winds.

see here that is clear and 40 miles per hour gusts. a bit aggressive. you get the flavor of the day and up to 40 or 50. and that situation will continue through the afternoon. let's break that down. wednesday is the big day here. how about the high of 70. and, yes, the storms are making their way into the picture. that warm air will perhaps fuel more storms during the afternoon. we'll start you off. and it is encompassing most of the viewing region. we take you through 1:90 o'clock. the first wave and to the east and the individual boundaries and storms. and pose a threat as we teak you into the afternoon hours. this is something we do not want to turn our back ion.

>> 56 degrees. you will see the wave make it in the 60s. and at some point around 70 degrees. and that could be that second round of storms during the afternoon hours in the low 50s across the high country and the mid and notice the first wave is out. the chances of rain are not sky high. and here it is. close to 70 in the piedmont. we bring it down into south carolina. and again a warm atmosphere which could be loaded up for the potential for more storms. the threats if you live in a flood prone area more rain a problem. that's a threat. in the absence of a tornado we could see trees coming down. the big day. 100% chance of rain. we'll flatten it out as we go forward. how about on thursday you will see the high 55. the cool air making its way into
